PGA Tour Partners With Autograph to Launch a Golf-Focused NFT Platform

A long-term agreement to develop a comprehensive "digital collectibles" NFT platform was announced by the PGA TOUR and Autograph. The web3 brand Tom Brady co-founded to transform golf fandom by enabling supporters to show their passion for the sport by possessing a remembrance of its illustrious past.

PGA TOUR and Autograph Collaborates To Develop a Digital Collectibles

The PGA TOUR and Autograph will collaborate to develop a digital collectibles platform using video, statistics, images, and other competition-related elements from TOUR competitions. The top PGA TOUR golfers, as well as some of their favorite moments from the past and the current FedExCup Season, will be featured on NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), which golf fans will be able to purchase and collect. Additionally, collectors can receive advantages from various programs, including access to unique online, offline, and onsite experiences.

New NFT Platform to be Launched  in 2023

In addition to the current 2021–2022 FedExCup Season, this new platform will open in 2023 and mint key moments in golf history as NFTs for collectors. Chief Legal Officer Len Brown said, "The PGA Tour is excited to work with Autograph to offer digital collectibles that highlight the most talented golfers in the world and their role in the sport's history".

The PGA Tour has worked with Autograph before and has dabbled in NFTs. According to a recent revelation from Golf.com, the PGA Tours chose Autograph in April to mint Tour-licensed publications as NFTs. The FedExCup is a golf competition with an $18 million prize pool. The NFT-based sports memorabilia site Autograph, which debuted in July 2021, offers sporting moments and collections from players like the gymnast Simone Biles, the golfer Tiger Woods, and the firm's co-founder, football player Tom Brady.
