In order to allow workers and customers to participate in interactive "Journeys" that award "Journey Stamps" in the form of Polygon-based NFTs, the well-known coffee shop company opened up the Web3 addition to its Starbucks Rewards program to a limited set of waitlist members.
Additionally, customers receive "Odyssey Points" that grant access to upcoming advantages and experiences like special events, virtual seminars on creating espresso martinis, and excursions to Starbucks roasteries and coffee farms.
For those on the waitlist, the business says it will start sending invites every month in January. Users invited to the test launch of the service will also have entry to the Starbucks Odyssey market provided by Nifty Gateway, where they can purchase and trade their digital collectible Stamps. According to Starbucks, Odyssey members can buy Stamps without a cryptocurrency wallet or using cryptocurrency by using a credit card straight.
Andy Sack, co-founder, and co-CEO of Forum3, which contributed to the Odyssey project, claimed that the idea was motivated by a desire to please the customer with new digital experiences. Sack created Forum3 with former Starbucks Chief Digital Officer Adam Brotman, who oversaw the development of Starbucks' loyalty mobile application, which counts over 50 million registered users.
