Sweden’s Bitcoin Pizza Restaurant Revenue Fall By 90 Percent

After the outbreak of Coronavirus in Sweden the Bitcoin Pizza restaurant in the country experience the heat and is on the verge of bankruptcy.

Currently, in Sweden, the active cases of COVID-19 are more than 3,866 and the country reported a total of 146 death.

Businesses Still Open In Sweden

Unlike other countries, Sweden was not much worried about the outbreak, neither did the authorities lock down the country nor did it implement any other strict action. However, it did advice the citizens to work from home, wash their hands and limit public gatherings.

Earlier, the people did not realize the serious repercussions of the outbreak and continued to go to work, because of which many of the people lost their lives.

Currently, there are still some businesses which are open and Ariana is one of them. The crypto-friendly pizza place is operating its business in the usual way. The Stockholm-based restaurant is the only eating place in the country that accepts payment in Bitcoin too.

Bitcoin Pizza Restaurant Gets Bankrupt

Ariana opened its gate for the customers in January 2020, but presently it facing a great loss because of bankruptcy. Over the past few weeks, the revenue of the crypto-friendly pizza place came down by 90 percent.

Regarding the fall, the owner of the restaurant, Sekander Islamzai, said, “We were able to run the business on the money we used to bring in, but since our revenue is down 90 percent, it is no longer sustainable. The measures that have come from the government help, but if it does not bring money into the cash register it will not work”.

Although the businesses have been running in the country, the restaurants and hotel are experiencing a drop because presently, the citizens are choosing to stay at home rather going out.

Recently, the Swedish Government started offering help to the businesses that have been in struggling in this crisis. The government is providing crisis packages to reduce the payroll tax and rent of the small businesses.
