According to an official release, Talos has raised $105 million in Series B funding round that included investments from U.S. financial services giants Citigroup (C), Wells Fargo (WFC) and BNY Mellon (BK).
Previous investors from the firm’s $40 million Series A round also participated including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), PayPal Ventures, Castle Island Ventures and Fidelity Investments.
Other new investors include Stripes, DRW, SCB 10x, Matrix Capital Management, Fin VC, Voyager Digital, Graticule Asset Management Asia (GAMA) and LeadBlock Partners. The round brings Talos's total valuation to $1.25 billion.
The funding will help Talos extend its institutional-grade digital asset platform as well as accelerate the firm’s expansion into the Asia-Pacific region and Europe.
Founded in 2018, Talos is an institutional-grade infrastructure technology provider in the cryptocurrency industry, offering services for trading, settlement and others.
The company’s client base spans the entire digital asset ecosystem, from buy-side institutions to financial service providers, and includes broker-dealers, prime brokers, hedge funds, banks, OTC desks, custodians, exchanges and lenders.
