By 2023, this figure had surged to $304 billion, and recent data shows a further 25% increase, bringing the total to $424 billion in September 2024. According to CryptoQuant analyst Maartunn, "Tether is the biggest stablecoin, and TRON is one of the most popular networks for sending them."

Tether’s own <a href="https://tether.io/news/how-many-usdt-users-are-there/">report</a> highlights significant user adoption across various blockchains, with USDT now being used by 330 million on-chain wallets. This figure doesn’t include off-chain users on centralized platforms, which are estimated to number in the tens of millions. Over the past year, Tether has seen an average 9% growth in user adoption, adding 36.25 million new users in Q3 2024 alone.

While TRON has emerged as a dominant network for USDT transfers, Tether also reported notable growth on Ethereum Layer 2 solutions like Optimism, Arbitrum, and Polygon. Additionally, USDT's recent integration with the TON network has added 3.3 million new users in just six months.
