Twitter has started its investigation and seeking what other malicious activities the hackers would have employes or what kind of data they have stolen from the users.

While informing its users, @TwitterSupport account of twitter, stated, “We detected what we believe to be a coordinated social engineering attack by people who successfully targeted some of our employees with access to internal systems and tools”.

It further mentioned that the scammers gained the access of many of the prominent users’ account, which included the verified accounts too, and tweeted on their behalf.

Soon after the hacking, Twitter locked all the compromised accounts, it has notified that it would not restore them till it gets the surety about the account’s security.

On July 15, after getting access to Mr. Biden and Mr. Gates’ account, the hackers tweeted and ask their followers to send $1,000. In the tweet, which was on behalf of the prominent personalities, the hackers mentioned that as soon as they would receive the money, they will respond back by sending $2,000.

However, after some time, the tweet was deleted, now it is not available on the users’ account.
