A well-known cryptocurrency trading platform, Crypto.com has recently announced a collaboration with Ultimate Fighting Champions (UFC) to pay participating athletes through Bitcoin.
UFC President Dana White said,
“Crypto.com has been an official UFC partner for less than a year, and I’m telling you that they are already one of the best partners we’ve ever had.”
An announcement shared by Crypto.com states regulations for the fans. Firstly, each fan will receive three votes for pay-per-view and each fan will only be allowed to vote for two fighters. Thirdly, voting will close an hour after the event ends.
Fans of the Championship will be required to vote for the top three fighters. Based on Pay-Per-View, the best fighter will receive $30,000 BTC and the second and third will receive $20,000 and $10,000, respectively.
For fans and fighters of UFC, however, this won't be the first time UFC is brushing with BTC. In January, FX Empire stated that the UFC Champion Francis Ngannou took half his bonus in Bitcoin. Exchanges like Binance, FTX, and Crypto.com are some of the most actively participating firms in sports.
