Polygon, a blockchain previously associated with DeFi DApps, moved up to the second place from Hive. This is a positive sign for Polygon, as it is currently earning respect as a gaming blockchain. A significant portion of the UAW surge in Polygon was due to hunters. Hunters On-Chain is a web3 adaptation of BoomLand's mobile game Hunt Royale. It's a free-to-play RPG with NFT integration, similar in look and style to Minecraft. It's unclear exactly what caused the surge in interest in the game, although expectations for an in-game NFT sale on March 31st may have played a role. There has been a lot of bullish momentum around Polygon, especially in relation to NFTs, games and metaverse.
Polygon Labs, the team behind the network, has notched a long list of notable partnerships including Warner Music, Starbucks, Adidas, Reddit and Adobe to develop and execute NFT projects. The team also successfully rolled out Polygons open-source Ethereum Virtual Machine. This is compliant with the Zero Knowledge Rollup. It is touted as allowing his DApps to scale by batching transactions, resulting in higher performance while reducing gas costs for executing transactions on the network.
