This would mean that thousands of Alternative Airline users would be able to pay for flights across the globe using popular cryptos like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dash and Utrust native token UTK.
Utrust Ceo Nuno Correia revealed that the partnership was a good one for the airline booking platform as it would bring increased security and ease of transactions for users.
“Utrust is providing Alternative Airlines’ customers with the increased security and convenience of cryptocurrency payments, and reducing processing fees, to bring greater transparency and trust to the world of online payments.”
Utrust has been seeking partnerships with several mainstream fintech companies and the partnership with Alternative Airlines is a massive boost for the crypto payment platform.
Alternative Airlines boasts a massive platform that includes flight listings of popular airlines which includes, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, Ryanair, and China Southern Airlines.
The integration of crypto payments on the platform continues the growing adoption of cryptocurrencies in the Airline industry.
Several airline booking platforms have rapidly added crypto payments due to the ease of transactions and demand for it from users. In addition, some airlines have begun to integrate crypto payments directly on their platforms.
Airports have also begun to adopt blockchain solutions with a bitcoin ATM recently installed in Miami International Airport which is the major gateway to Latin America. The ATM enables users to pay Bitcoin for cash and helps facilitate transactions for travelers.
It remains to be seen whether this growth in adoption will continue abated as we enter the last few months of the year.
