TV host Jimmy Fallon and artist Post Malone are two of the service's previous clientele. Post Malone gave MoonPay the possibility to sponsor his future music video after the firm helped him get his first Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT, according to MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright, in December 2021. The concierge, according to Soto-Wright, is "creating a cool cultural discourse." Shortly after his ape purchase, Jimmy Fallon acknowledged buying an NFT on-air with MoonPay.
In January, during a discussion with Paris Hilton, he mentioned MoonPay for the second time on his show. But the company's celebrity connections don't end there. MoonPay's celebrity courtship continued into April when it received about $87 million in capital from a star-studded group of investors, including Justin Bieber, Bruce Willis, Paris Hilton, and Matthew McConaughey. Its concierge service has overpaid for popular NFTs due to its clients' need to get in on the craze as soon as feasible. MoonPay paid an average of 26% more for Bored Ape NFTs than the collection's floor price, according to calculations by The Block in March.
