Social media platform Reddit has recently revealed data that claims that the word crypto has received over 6 million mentions by users while the words like Bitcoin and Ethereum have continued to go down in popularity.

'Reddit Recap 2021,' Reddit, an American social news aggregation, web content rating, and discussion website, showed that Bitcoin was the most popular topic of discourse on the platform in 2021.

'Crypto' Receives Over 6 Million Mentions On Reddit

In 2021, people used crypto 6.6 million times while participating in the most popular articles, topics, and conversations on the network. The cryptocurrency craze continues, but the prices of popular cryptos like Bitcoin and Ethereum continue to plummet. Bitcoin was trading at $48,281.96 after falling 0.35 percent in the previous 24 hours. Meanwhile, according to data from coinmarketcap.com, Bitcoin's market share is now at 40.86 percent, up 0.41 percent in the last 24 hours.

Ethereum was trading at $4,018.20, down 2.16 percent in the last 24 hours, while Binance Coin (BNB) was trading at $551.23, down 4.70 percent in the same period. Solana (SOL) was down 3.84 percent to $170.63, and Cardano (ADA) was down 1.50 percent to $1.29.

Meme Coins Overview 

In the last 24 hours, the prices of Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Dogelon Mars (ELON), and Samoyed Coin (SAMO) have all dropped.

At 5:00 p.m., Dogecoin had dropped 1.52 percent and was trading at $0.1675. Shiba Inu was down 3.15 percent and was trading at $0.00003388, Dogelon Mars was down 2.74 percent and was trading at $0.00000112, and Samoyedcoin was down 7.40 percent and was trading at $0.03883.

The worldwide cryptocurrency market capitalization was $2.24 trillion, down 1.08 percent in the last 24 hours, while total crypto market volume was $105.26 billion, up 2.07%.

The most significant gainer was Mind Music (MND), which gained 1028.91 percent and was trading at $0.000000005173 at 5:00 p.m. FarmerDoge(CROP), on the other hand, suffered the worst loss, plummeting 97.07 percent to $0.0001232. According to Indian Express, the top five most-viewed cryptocurrency forums on Reddit in 2021 were Dogecoin, Superstonk, Cryptocurrency, Amcstock, and Bitcoin, according to a recent report.

Reddit continues to be the hub for cryptocurrency enthusiasts, as more Redditors(Reddit users) participate in the conversation, whether for knowledge, support, or sharing success.
